VETERAN OUTREACH & WORKSHOPS
Veteran Community Outreach ia an activity of providing services to veterans who might not otherwise have access to those services. A key component of our Outreach Program is that it is not stationary, but mobile; in other words the Vet Help Desk, meet those in need of outreach services at the locations where those in need are. In addition to delivering services, our Outreach has an educational role, raising the awareness of existing services.
Outreach is a key element for serving our Mid-South community because it requires a knowledgeable & highly motivated staff. The goal of the Help Desk's Outreach Program, is to fill in the gap in the services provided by mainstream (often, governmental) services.

VETERAN OUTREACH

Our workshops are designed as an interactive training where participants carry out a number of training activities rather than passively listen to a lecture or presentation. We offer two types of workshop: A general workshop put on for a mixed audience, & a closed workshop tailored towards meeting the training needs of veterans specifically.
The overall goal of our Veteran &/or Service Agency workshops are to: provide a way to create an intensive educational experience in a short amount of time, introduce new concepts, to teach hands-on skills providing feedback from participants, to pass on ideas & methods for Best Practices, and to help create a sense of community or common purpose among its participants.
